I try not to eat too much, usually I stop before I'm completely full, or when I feel full, (even though I haven't had desert yet). I try to eat as naturally as possible, with more fruit and vegetables than meat, and less junk food. And I try to eat what is good for me, what gives me energy throughout the day.

I also fast according to tradition in the Orthodox church, which greatly helps me temper myself when it comes to eating.
