water is not only used for drinking but also for the growth of plants, transportation and fishing, and for these reasons many of the major ancient civilizations such as sumer, babylon, egypt, mesopotamia, etc. were founded near rivers for transportation drinking water to survive as well as irrigation for growing crops, which has affected how some civilizations thrived by growing crops in accordance to the flooding of their river, or using irrigation to help grow crops elsewhwere(such as aqueducts). water is essential for life and for civilization itself.
