Both virii (sic) and some forms of bacteria are considered pathogens, but their methods of "offense" are different. Bacteria are functional single-cell organisms, whereas viruses are a genetic payload that infiltrates other cells.

The two other pathogens you might be concerned about are multi-cellar parasites (e.g. tape worms) and prions (molecules that converted other molecules into copies of themselves; all human prion pathogens are 100% fatal).
