The general formula for the arithmetic mean is:

\bar{x} = \frac{1}{n}\sum_{i=1}^n x_i = \frac{1}{n} (x_1+\cdots+x_n)

To compute for the arithmetic mean, sum up all the numbers in the sample and divide the sum by the number of items in the sample.
