How do you pronounce 'pâté' in American English, and in British English?

There's no simple answer in British English. Northern and Southern dialects/accents have a different pronunciation. Posh people in England say 'Pahh-tayyy' (it sound like party too- par-tayy) and less posh people are more of a 'pat-tay'. If that's any help?

The emphasis also changes in different parts of England. Patay versus Patay.
