Desalinization is a process i am learning more about. Taking salt water from the ocean and turning it into fresh water is a trillion dollar question. Even though its being done all over the world, there is an easier and more cost effective desalinization process.

One way i think could work is utilizing the hot deserts wide open space to lay salt water out over a reflective surface. Salt erodes most metals so maybe a plain glass mirror would be best. Picture a football field with a greenhouse roof over it. As the water evaporates from the salt water it turns into gas and rises. Fans blowing in the same direction on each side of the greenhouse could push the water vapor over to another greenhouse and collected. Still trying to figure out why something this simple is not done instead of the long purification processes being used today. As of now they treat the water to remove elements instead of removing the water from these elements and collecting it separately.
