How do you seperate salt from sand?

Salt is not separated from sand but from the sea water. They gather sea water and boil it, when it dries the minerals they obtain from it are sodium chloride which can be made into Salt.

If I wanted to separate a quantity of sand from a quantity of salt, that was mixed together, I would add water, stir (or shake) the container to dissolve the salt leaving only the wet sand.
