A giraffe's main adaptations are present due to its diet. Its long neck and legs allows it to reach the leaves of the trees it feeds from. It has a thick tongue and lips to prevent thorns scratching its mouth. It has thin fur to help prevent overheating. A giraffe's saliva is also very efficient at breaking down toxins in the leaves it feeds on.
