A hex code for colors defines separate values for red green and blue on a scale of 0 - 255. As an example, pure red is 255 red, 0 green, and 0 blue. 255 in Hex is "FF". So, the six digit hex value for red is FF0000. Green is 00FF00. Blue is 0000FF.
