Motion and the power required to make a cycle go, are all related to physics.

To stay upright, a single or two wheeled cycle requires the rider to keep momentum, usually forward. This is why cycles don't fall over, as long as there is forward motion greater than the gravity required to pull the cycle over sideways, a rider will stay upright.

Also the power from the legs is transferred into motion through the pedals and gears.
