This is wrong. It really depends on which branch of the arts you want. They are more than likely going to be theoretical degrees instead of practical degrees (music theory, art theory) but they can take 6-10 years just like a doctoral degree in anything else. However, a Doctorate of Fine Arts (D.FA) is pretty much the same thing as a Masters of Fine Arts (M.FA). But the title is generally honorary so you can't actually earn it.
