According to one estimate, some 70 billion(70,000,000,000)people have inhabited the Earth since man first appeared,(which begs another question I can't answer),and, no, it's not possible for Earth to sustain that many people at once.Given the dwindling resources and problems of health and crowding,a more realistic upper estimate would be 9-10 billion,which we may see this century.
