It depends on the type of cheese and quantity. As part of a balanced diet, cheese offers a good source of calcium but some cheeses contain large amounts of saturated fat which (if eaten excessively) can lead to fatty deposits on the arteries and lead to heart attacks etc. However, there are reduced-fat cheeses such as cheddars made with semi-skimmed milk (i.e low-low cheese brand), and low fat soft cheese spreads, cottage cheeses which are low in fat and good in calcium which prevents osteoporosis and is good for teeth! Go to your local supermarket and check out all the brands of cheese and their fat content if you are concerned about how healthy the cheese is.
