[edit] Welcome to Wikianswers!

Wiki.png

Welcome to Wikianswers, Buckimion. Thanks for your recent edit.

There are lots of un-answered questions that you might be able to help with.

We also need help making sure new questions are suitable and are correctly spelled. You can also help by adding categories to questions .

Watch what's happening on Wikianswers on our recent changes page and tell us if you find a great answer.

If you need any help, please see the links on Where can I find Wikianswers help? or ask me on my talk page.

Thanks for all your Family Guy answers. You're doing a great job there! Angela@Wikia (talk) 06:09, 15 April 2009 (UTC)

[edit] Category editor

Thanks for volunteering. I've signed you up on Wikianswers:Sign up for a category so you're now looking after Category:Family Guy Wiki. Some ways to help are to make sure the unanswered questions are answered, and to remove the Family Guy Wiki category from questions that are not related to Family Guy. You can find recent edits to pages in that category at Special:RecentChangesLinked/Category:Family Guy Wiki. You can also look through Special:Newpages for questions about Family Guy that have not yet been put in a category. Please let me know if you need any help! [edit] Widget truncates questions

Thanks, but I had something strange the other day that was a puzzle. I had a poorly worded question come up that I was able to answer after a bit of leg work...only to find out the question hadn't even been asked! I ended up listed as asking the question. I'm slightly amused but it kind of rubs too...there isn't a question for the Family Guy show I can't answer but it looks like I was stumped on one...and even though I rephrased the question it still shows up with the horrible spelling and grammar. Its embarrassing. --Buckimion 16:21, 30 July 2009 (UTC)

Some admins delete poorly worded questions. If that was the case, any admin can undelete the "original" question to set the record straight (if you tell them which one it is).
If you link me to the second problem, I can see what the cause is. --◄mendel► 07:45, 31 July 2009 (UTC)
Ah, I saw. Where does that question "still show up" though it shouldn't? --◄mendel► 22:22, 31 July 2009 (UTC)
On the Family Guy Wiki. Normally, answered questions disappear. This one keeps staying. I took out the redirect to the rephrased question and was waiting to see if it disappeared overnight. --Buckimion 23:01, 31 July 2009 (UTC)
Question links are truncated
Ok, here's what happened:
Give whoever coded the widget a smack behind the ears. ;) --◄mendel► 10:03, 1 August 2009 (UTC)
Nice to know it was something so simple. (sarcasm :) ) --Buckimion 12:12, 1 August 2009 (UTC)
Yeah. Simple really. Took me less than an hour to figure out. --◄mendel► 22:56, 1 August 2009 (UTC)
Looked up deleted contribs, is it one of Why is gizmo of family guy or Rj family guy? –koisuru (talk) 10:54, 31 July 2009 (UTC)

[edit] Test question

If somebody asked a really really really really really really really really long question, would it show up whole here or get truncated You wrote it showed up truncated; Uberfuzzy told me the problem was fixed, so the link led you to the question, or to its truncated version? And it did take a long time to show up, as long as it was a single question I never saw it. --◄mendel► 17:08, 3 August 2009 (UTC)

I saw a short version on the Family Guy wiki but did not click on the link. Seeing a word cut off in mid-sentence made me automatically go directly to wikianswers (where I saw the complete question) to answer the question from there. (I have each as separate links for when I want to surf questions asked outside of Family Guy) Sorry about that. --Buckimion 17:15, 3 August 2009 (UTC)
Ok, time to make another one... --◄mendel► 17:37, 3 August 2009 (UTC)
So it does appear that the problem is fixed. Now if somebody could explain why the widget updates in minutes now when it wouldn't in hours last night? :-( (You can probably remove the "Family guy" category now and substitute "testing" or something.) --◄mendel► 17:51, 3 August 2009 (UTC)

[edit] Supervisors

Hi Buckimion. As you have been a featured editor, would you like to become a supervisor? Basically, it means you would be able to delete questions. Please leave a note on Becoming a supervisor if you are interested. Thanks, Angela@Wikia (talk) 08:55, October 21, 2009 (UTC)

Hello, as per your request on the becoming a supervisor page I have made you a supervisor. Please be sure to read this article and don't hesitate to ask any questions. Cheers! :) --Soldier 1033 20:25, October 21, 2009 (UTC)
