Which war? The Russian Revolution was a war: it was the Russian civil war. If you mean World War I, then no. WWI was a catalyst that allowed Lenin to lead the poor peasants of Russia in a revolt against the ruling wealthy families. However, it was not the main cause. The uneven distribution or wealth, lack of regard for the poor, and poor leadership were all causes as well.
