Complex numbers are numbers expressed in the form a+bi where a and b are real (non-complex) numbers, and i is an imaginary number representing the square root of negative one (sqrt(-1)). An example would be (3 + 7i) which represents [3 + ( 7 * sqrt(-1) ) ].
