Most well known are the works of his Middle-earth legendarium:

• The Hobbit
• The Lord of the Rings (Volumes: The Fellowship of the Ring, The Two Towers, The Return of the King)

Tolkien wrote a vast amount for the legendarium that was never published. His son, Christopher Tolkien, published a lot of his previously unpublished works posthumously. These works were mainly:

• The Simarillion
• Unfinished Tales
• The History of Middle-earth, vol. 1-12
• The Children of Húrin
