For hundreds of years America has been known as the mixing pot. By that they mean that all races and ethnicities are tolerated here. However, that status is general. We patrol our borders...we issue visas...etc. Nevertheless our government likes to pretend to be something we once were, but are no more. The race and ethnicity concepts we pretend to have shape the stereotype of America.
