Why were toilets made?

Because outhouses were impractical and uncomfortable: you had to walk outside to a smelly box where you sat and defecated. You would have to do this whether it was 100 degrees or -10 degrees, so a man named John (not joking here) invented a system for nobles which would allow them to stay inside. This was later perfected into the design we know to day by a man named Crapper. (not a joke here either, his toilet was called the Crapper, and that's where the slang comes from)
